Postpartum hair loss affects about half of women.

A few months after childbirth (between one and three months), many women notice the onset of hair loss more pronounced. For several weeks the problem persists and gradually fades back to the state before pregnancy.

The scientific explanation is simple. The hair is greatly stimulated by estrogen, a hormone present in large quantities during pregnancy. They are brighter, stronger and even more, because this hormone prolongs life. That's why your hair seems to have gained in volume! They take advantage of this "extra" perfect for them!

However, the shock is brutal after childbirth. The estrogen levels drop which results in significant hair loss. They sometimes fall by the handful every reason to worry. Try rather that estrogen has kept alive and in place of hair that would have fallen steadily during the nine months of pregnancy. That is why we believe that we lose more hair! Even if the problem is unpleasant, there is no reason to worry unduly.

Women who experienced an abortion or miscarriage or ceases taking birth control pills high in estrogen can also observe this phenomenon.

So if we add to this imbalance of hormones sleepless nights, a small baby blues, breastfeeding, fatigue and adaptation to this new lifestyle, the factors leading to hair loss are many in this post partum.

Another hormone monitor. The so-called androgen hormones "male" - that women also secrete lower amounts - can weaken the hair and cause fine hair, brittle and less abundant. A massive injection of hormones such as estrogen can counteract the influence of androgens.

Stress in the dock ... too! Hair is also a reflection of our lives! Stress, fatigue accumulated a significant event or change in your lifestyle can be triggers hair loss or scalp problem. Why? Stress causes the secretion of androgens! And pregnancy can be included in the box of new states that require adaptation to change!

Eat well. The menu preferred to keep your hair soft, silky and healthy: protein rich in amino acids, vitamins B and PP (B3). Proper nutrition through a balance of all the mineral and vitamin and good servings of fruits and vegetables is to advocate to activate the new hair.

No need to dry your hair unnecessarily (dyes, dyeing, bleaching, blow dry, blow dryer, iron, etc..).

Try to assay manipulations and irritants (gel, hairspray, etc..).

Pamper your hair with mild shampoo rather than aggressive and strippers.

Choose a natural bristle brush, not plastic.
